What You Will Be Doing:
As our Accountant - Accounts Payable Specialist, you'll improve and find efficiencies in Helion's accounts payable and credit card expenditure accounting. You will support month-end closing activities especially in fixed asset, prepaid expenditure, and accrual accounting cycles. Your expertise will help ensure accurate accounting in expensing or capitalizing decisions, inventory or expense decisions, internal cost center determination and vendor accounting management. You will report to the Director of Finance and work at our Everett, WA office.
- Complete entries at the accounts payable function; ensure expenses are charged to appropriate accounts and cost centers by recording vendor invoices; review and process employee expense reports, and credit card submissions
- Support processes around month end close, journal entries and financial statement preparations, including monthly accruals, prepaid expense recognitions and amortizations, fixed asset additions and depreciations and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage month-end close bank reconciliation for all Helion subsidiaries bank accounts
- Schedule and prepare checks, wires and electronic funds transfers, and preparing daily bank reconciliations
- Help develop new accounting procedures, and financial systems features to enhance the workflow of the department
- Maintain accounts, records and supporting documentation in multiple general and cost accounting tasks, including maintenance of our electronic filing system and W9 record maintenance in partnership with our procurement team
- Complete WA state local tax and other statutory filings
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 3-5 years of demonstrated accounting experience in the accounts payable management/general ledger accounting/financial reporting area with a manufacturing, energy, or technology industry
- Knowledge of current GAAP and regulatory requirements
- Comfortable working with individuals at all organizational levels

The pay range for this position is $65k-120k. This pay range may be inclusive of several career levels and will be narrowed based on several factors, including the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
