And it’s why our business strategy centers on making journalism so good that it’s worth paying for.About Us:As a Full-Stack Engineering Intern at the New York Times, you will have the opportunity to work on the most impactful surfaces of our products, from custom editing interfaces for our journalists to web and email products for millions of users around the world. You can also contribute to the development of new products beyond our core journalism, such as the NYT Games and NYT Cooking.Responsibilities:Write high-quality code with best practices and design patterns in mindWork with current technologies including Go, Javascript, NodeJS/Express, React, GraphQL and CSS ModulesHave a voice in the direction of our productsWork at scale to help deliver our journalism to millions of users around the worldHave the opportunity to work with all parts of the stack and contribute to broader architectural discussionsBasic Qualifications:You have at least 6 months of educational or professional experience with full stack engineeringPreferred Qualifications:You have 6 months+ of professional experience working with current web technologiesYou have familiarity with least one modern server-side programming language (e.g. Go, Java, Kotlin, Python, Scala)You have experience working in a highly collaborative environment with peers from different backgrounds and skill setsYou enjoy finding creative solutions to technical challenges and appreciate the balance between strong convictions and a pragmatic approachAbout Our Summer Internships:The duration is 10 weeks long, starting on June 3, 2024.The rate of pay for this role is $40.00 per hour.Interns work 35 hours per week.Open to Hybrid and Remote work based in New York.REQ-015812The hourly rate of base pay for this role is:$40—$40 USDThe New York Times is committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce, one that reflects the varied global community we serve.
