The Software Intern will assist senior software developers and be part of a cross-functional team to develop and maintain cargo inspection systems for the Port and Borders group at Leidos. The intern will be able to participate and help with design and development of Windows client-server applications using C#. The intern will gain experience utilizing object-oriented design principals, practices, and patterns to ensure our code base is reusable and maintainable.

The Software Intern will participate in a variety of meetings and activities designed to expose the individual to Leidos corporate culture. The intern will prepare and present a formal presentation outlining their accomplishments to the management team.

We are interested in a student who is motivated to learn and gain experience in an engineering environment.

Position is 40 hours per week.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in Software Engineering or Computer Science degree program at an accredited college or university
• Core software courses completed
• A passion for problem-solving
• Excellent organization skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work with a team and independently

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with Visual Studio and Microsoft Team Foundation Server or Azure DevOps is a plus but not necessary
• Proficient in C++ or C# is a plus but not necessary
