We are seeking qualified candidates for our Grid Software Internship Program in Software Development beginning in May 2025. This program is based in Minnetonka, MN but may allow remote work in the US.
This internship will allow you to work with experts in the Energy industry who have developed the software, products, and services that electrify the world! Internship Description:
- 12-week full-time summer internship consisting of multiple Software Developer related roles within the Grid Software division. Part-time work during the school year may also be available.
- Potential intern placements are as follows: Software Developer and Integration System Administrator.
Software Developer:
- Work with a mentor / within a Software Development Team
- Analyze feature requirements and bug reports.
- Troubleshoot and debug bug software solutions on customer systems.
- Design and Implement Software Solutions.
- Software validation, including executing and implementing automated tests.
- This position can be fully remote (within the US) or a hybrid work schedule with access to our Minnetonka, MN office.
Integration System Administrator:
- Work with a mentor / within a Software Development Team
- Install, configure, and maintain Enterprise systems in a virtual environment.
- Manage, troubleshoot, and maintain computer servers and networks.
- Maintain and manage source code using Git.
- Perform customized software builds and installations in a multi-server Linux environment.
- System Administration for project development environment.
- This position requires a hybrid work schedule with access to our Minnetonka, MN office.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
- Current junior or senior undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor’s degree, or graduate student with at least one year remaining in their program. Candidates must not be graduating prior to September 2025.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Familiar with C/C++, Java, Python or SQL programming languages
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of applications of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Experience using collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, Slack, or Discord.
- Ability to work effectively with multinational and diverse groups and demonstrate leadership skills.
- Self-starter with good time management skills and the capacity to effectively prioritize a variety of concurrent activities.

- The pay rate for this position is $31 per hour for undergraduate candidates and $31-$35 per hour for graduate candidates. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
