The Position
Plug Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated student to join our Fuel Cell Stack development team. The student will be responsible for assisting in a wide variety of initiatives and projects in support of your academic studies and interests. In this role, you will assist with a variety of initiatives and projects, gaining hands-on experience in MEA processes, fuel cell testing, and root cause analysis (RCA) within an engineering environment. Responsibilities
- Gain practical experience in applying coating techniques to various MEA components, assist with die-cutting materials to specified dimensions, and learn lamination processes to bond layers together.
- Perform fuel cell MEA fabrication, testing, and diagnostics at both the single-cell, short-stack levels, and full size level. Qualify new MEA and stack designs and components as part of internal development programs for both fuel cell and electrolyzers
- Develop methods and participate in tear down and root cause analysis (RCA) of full size returned fuel cell and electrolyzer product lines
- Document research activities, test results, and observations in detailed lab notes and assist with preparing reports that summarize findings, progress, and areas for improvement.
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Science, Master's or PhD degree in X or a related program
- Must have reliable transportation to the office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Possess solid hands-on approach to problem-solving
- Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
- Excellent follow-through
- Must be driven and self-motivated
