The Position
The Private Investment Risk Group performs all fundamental analyses, including initial assessments and annual reviews. For private investment transactions, our group assigns internal risk ratings and specific covenants to each transaction to ensure that the risk profile of each asset class is in line with its portfolio target risk rating. In addition, the team monitors on an ongoing basis the news and various limits/guidelines for private investments. The Private Investment Risk Group ultimately reports to the Chief Risk Officer.
Responsibilities

Assist with the implementation of strategic initiatives

Perform rating reviews of existing investments to ensure that internal ratings reflect the current credit profile of each investment

Assist with the monitoring of limits and risk controls in place for PSP’s investments

Monitor market news with respect to PSP’s private market investments as well as the broader institutional investment world

Participate in various ad-hoc projects and tasks
Requirements
-
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or other related field

Advanced or intermediate Excel skills

Effective communications skills, both written and spoken

Strong analytical skills

Team player and fast learner

Experience with Power BI, an asset

Proficiency in English and French (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)

Must return to studies after the internship or the internship must be part of your curriculum
