First Presidency Internship in Missouri, USA

The Position

The intern will gain a real sense of how the church operates at the executive level through a combination of exposure (time with the Presidency, conversations with departments, travel to see the church in action) and contribution (working on projects that matter to the Presidency).  Compensation, housing, food allowance, transportation and travel costs provided. Graceland University students are eligible.
Responsibilities

  1. Meets with leaders across IHQ—communications, spiritual formation, finance, HR, legal, international ministries to understand how vision becomes mission
  2. Identifies a project based on intern’s interests and the Presidency's priorities
  3. Travels with a member of the First Presidency on one or two trips during the summer

Requirements

  1. Self-starter
  2. Good communication skills-verbal and written
  3. Strategic thinking
  4. Familiarity with Community of Christ
  5. Cultural sensitivity
  6. Good judgement and discretion
  7. Flexibility
  8. Member of Community of Christ
  9. Holds priesthood in Community of Christ and interested in ministry leadership
  10. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software

Company

Community of Christ is an international Christian church with roots in the Latter Day Saint movement, tracing its origins to Joseph Smith's founding of the Church of Christ on April 6, 1830.  It was formally reorganized on April 6, 1860, under the leadership of Joseph Smith III, and officially changed its name to Community of Christ in 2001 to emphasize its focus on Jesus Christ and peace.
