The Position
BPC’s Health Policy Program advances bipartisan policy solutions to build a more cost-effective, evidence-based health care system and to improve population health. We work to strengthen and sustain Medicare and Medicaid, accelerate the shift toward value, address inefficiencies and misaligned incentives, and responsibly leverage technology and innovation.
Interns work full time and will receive a $6,000 stipend for ten weeks of work.
Responsibilities
- Reforming and sustaining the nation’s public and private health care systems
- Increasing efficiency of service delivery in Medicare and Medicaid
- Investigating key drivers of high health care costs
- Accelerating the use of digital technologies to support patients, new and advanced models of care, and research and development
- Improving access to long-term services and support for those with complex needs
- Addressing health care infrastructure, workforce, and health IT barriers to health care services in rural areas
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate school
- Strong research and writing skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
