The Position
The internship will work with members of our Integrated Care Initiatives team within the Emerging Strategies department to gain professional experience with a national non-profit organization while supporting multiple health initiatives, strategic alliance activities, conference planning, and project coordination.
The American Heart Association’s Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization.
Responsibilities

Develop project coordination skills by supporting recurring project activities, maintaining shared documents, and assisting with the coordination of multiple health initiative projects.

Assist with conference planning, including coordinating logistics, preparing materials, and tracking deadlines.

Support strategic alliance work by tracking action items, monitoring deadlines, and maintaining organized project documentation.

Assist with preparing internal communications, summaries, and updates related to health initiative activities.
Requirements
• College seniors and graduate students pursuing a degree in health promotion, public health, or related fields.
• An interest in non-profit and project management is strongly preferred.

Must be familiar with software including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Canva.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, including professional interaction with colleagues.
• Required Equipment: Reliable Wi-Fi connection
• Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 9am-5pm.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.
